This site collects no personal data: there are no accounts, no forms and no analytics, and it sets no tracking cookies of its own.

The map remembers your choice of map style and whether place names are on, and the pages remember the size of the header so it does not jump. These settings stay in your browser's own storage. They are not cookies and are not sent to us.

Other services your browser contacts

To show the pages, your browser connects to the services below. Each one receives standard request data, such as your IP address and browser type, and handles it under its own privacy terms.

• Cloudflare: hosts this site and its data. It processes standard request data and may set basic functional cookies, for example to keep the site secure.
• MapTiler: supplies the map tiles, including place names, so it can tell which areas of the map you view.
• jsDelivr: supplies the code that draws the map, on pages with a map.
• YouTube: the videos on the About page use YouTube's privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com). They load as you scroll to them, before you press play. YouTube may store data in your browser once you play one.

Other sites, such as the news sources we cite and the AI assistants under "Discuss this page", receive nothing unless you follow a link to them. Those links can carry the address of the page you are on.
