Background

We found no report of GPS jamming or spoofing in Botswana, and no statement on it from the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana or the communications regulator, BOCRA. Gaborone is not in EASA's tables of 14 October 2026 (EASA, October 2026).

The one relevant official document we found is old: Botswana's performance-based navigation plan of January 2010 says very few Botswana-registered aircraft had approved GNSS receivers, which may no longer hold (Botswana PBN plan, 2010). Botswana is also among the 54 states behind the African Civil Aviation Commission's 2022 paper on interference, which names no case there (ICAO A41-WP/304, 2022).
