Background

Kenya's Communications Authority has raised concern about the growing use and sale of phone jammers, saying their use is an offence under the Kenya Information and Communications Act, with a fine of up to Sh1 million, five years in prison, or both (The Star, 2016). Mwakilishi reported in August 2025 that criminal groups increasingly use jammers to disable vehicle trackers (Mwakilishi, August 2025).

We found no report from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority of jamming or spoofing affecting flights. Nairobi is missing from EASA's tables of 14 October 2026, while nearby Mogadishu, Addis Ababa and Entebbe are listed (EASA, October 2026).
