GPS jamming in Thailand today

Thailand today: 73.9% of monitored areas are affected.

Background

Thailand's aviation authority warned in July 2025 that disruption to satellite navigation was increasingly encountered in the Bangkok flight information region, with most encounters on flights arriving from or leaving towards the west, through the Yangon region (Thailand AIC 05/25, 2025). The notice asks crews to check their position by conventional means and to report suspected spoofing; it gives no counts and no cause (Thailand AIC 05/25, 2025).

Thailand proposed an Asia-Pacific GNSS interference task force at the 2025 conference of regional aviation chiefs, and a 2026 paper says it has shared data and taken several actions (Bangladesh, ICAO paper, 2026). During the Thai-Cambodian border fighting of July 2025, OPSGROUP warned overflights about possible GPS interference, as a risk and not as something that had been recorded (OPSGROUP, July 2025). For the reporting on interference in Thailand, and who it is attributed to, see: South and Southeast Asia.

Only hexagons whose centre lies inside Thailand's borders are counted, so hexagons in neighbouring countries and out at sea are left out. The map is framed on 5.6 to 20.5 and 97.3 to 105.7.

Thailand: with few aircraft, one report can give a hexagon a high share; see the limitations.

By altitude

Thailand: All altitudes: points to a powerful, wide-area source. How this is read.

Thailand: an aircraft is counted in each layer it crosses, so the rows do not add up.
